i-Dentity updates, MusicZeit pre-release and "REMY Catalogue"

REMY - I-DENTITY - NEW ALBUM APRIL 16TH 2011
Still a couple of days to go for the official release of my new album "i-Dentity", as well as my performance at the E-Day Festival in Oirschot, on April 16th.
Today I've got confirmed the cd production has been shipped yesterday, so everything should be in time for Saturday!

I have been working on both websites, but due to some other priorities and a project that sneaked in between (on which you will get to hear more information within a couple of days), it takes some longer before they will be online!

Pre-release + exclusive track @ Music Zeit
From tonight 0:00 Remy's new album, "i-Dentity" will already be available from MusicZeit download platform.
The album can be downloaded as losless FLAC, as well as 320 kbps MP3. High quality artwork is also included with the download.
The download also includes an exclusive 17+ minute track, which is only available from Music Zeit.

Airplay
The last two weeks there have already been aired some excerpts from "i-Dentity" on various local radio stations and online streams.
Expect more the coming time, as I will send out the promotional copies next week!

AKH Records will be releasing two limited cd-boxsets with a couple of my releases for a very friendly price.
Set 1 contains 5 of my regular albums, and set 2 contains the same albums and 4 out of print bonus discs (cd-r's) that have been available for a limited time only.
The release date has been set to April 20th, and if you order your copy from http://www.akhrecords.nl/ before April 16th or during E-Day at latest, you don't pay shipping costs.

As the audio master and the artwork have been sent to the pressing plant last week, there's nothing I can change anymore at this stage!

I have already got confirmed that the album will be delivered in time for E-Day.

The time until my performance at the E-Day Festival I will use to prepare my concert and do a lot of promotion and other stuff "behind the screens".

"i-Dentity" updates (including soundclips and availability)

Last week I've finished the final mix of my new album, and supplyed it to Wouter Bessels, who is going to do the mastering.

Actually most of the mixes were already done a week earlier, but last week I've took some time to change some minor issues, such as removing some clicks in the guitar parts of the second track, adjusting the volume of the synth parts by Gert Emmens and Synth.nl, decreasing some background noise which appeared in the multitrack solos of the first track, etc.

This week I will be sending the first promotional tracks to radio stations, so expect to hear some previews before its release on April 16th!

Recently I have also been busy developing the artwork for "i-Dentity", which should be the standard / template for the future releases of my new label, Deserted Island Music. Actually it's the first time I have designed my own album artwork, since the ten years I am releasing music. Although I am graphic designer, Ewout Koek (with whom I own AKH Records) did all of my album artwork before!

AVAILABILITY

The official release date is April 16th, and the physical album can be obtained at the E-Day Festival at earliest.

However "i-Dentity" is available for pre-ordering via my new websites (http://www.desertedislandmusic.nl/ and http://www.exhibitionofdreams.com/), actually by sending an e-mail to remy@desertedislandmusic.nl.

The price is only 10 euros (excuding shipping)!

Still another week to work on the final album mix before it's going to be mastered by Wouter Bessels (who has been mastering my music since 2008).

Besides preparing for my E-Day performance, I am also working on two new websites which should be online before the release of "i-Dentity".

"i-Dentity" will be released on my new "Deserted Island Music" label.

Because 3 of the 4 tracks on the album represent my performance at last year's Ricochet Gathering in Berlin, which was organised by Vic Rek, it is decided to do a joint release with his Ricochet Dream label (http://www.ricochetdream.com/).

Guest musicians

Remy performed at the 11th Ricochet Gathering at the famous Rathaus Schöneberg in Berlin, October 16th 2010.

The very last seconds before my performance, guitar player Bill Fox agreed to participate on the second track.

The result was a totally improvised part, as Bill never heard the specific track.

Due to this very last-minute appearance, in combination with some technical issues, the original multi-track recordings of this track failed.

As a result of this, an edited version of this track has been re-recorded, also containing newly recorded guitar parts by Bill.

"i-Dentity" is an epic track, actually consisting of two parts: the "intro", and the continuation after the break which features solo's and additional parts by Gert Emmens, Synth.nl, Erik Wollo and Francis Rimbert.

The progress of my new album "i-Dentity" is going very well.

All parts of participating artists have been received and mixed, so tonight I am critically going to listen to the current mix of the entire album.

If I am not happy with it, there's still another week to make adjustments before sending the tracks to Wouter Bessels, who is going to do the mastering.

This day there is also going to be released an E-Day sampler by Groove Unlimited, containing one of my unreleased tracks.

DESERTED ISLAND MUSIC

The album will be released on my newly established record label, Deserted Island Music.

The concept:

The music which you can't without when getting stuck on a deserted island.

It is our purpose to release the perfect music for this situation, with a frequency of 2 to 4 releases in a year.

Our emphasis will be focused on electronic music, devided into several sub-styles, which can be recognised easily by the color of the artwork.

We have decided to use costs saving packaging (cardboard sleeves) to offer our high quality products for the best possible price to our customers.

Where a lot of independent labels and artists choose to distribute home made cd-r releases nowadays, we want to make the difference by only releasing factory pressed compact discs.

Our purpose is by means of limited editions (500 copies per release) not necessarily to become a large label, but to gain recognisability and getting well-acclaimed, by releasing several releases per year.

This year the (sold out) ceremony takes place in the planetarium of Bochum, March 12th.

New album, new label and more...

NEW ALBUM

After having celebrated my 10th anniversary as musician of electronic music, last year with the release of "Exhibition of Dreams - 10th Anniversary", My tenth album, "i-Dentity", sees the light on April 16th.

On this day I will also perform on the main stage at the annual E-Day Festival in Oirschot. Details can be found on http://e-day.groove.nl/.

The new album, as well as my performance will feature some well-known guest musicians, to be announced within two weeks!

Tracks 1-3 have been recorded at my performance at the 11th Ricochet Gathering in Berlin, October 16th 2010.

I performed an hour of music, of which “Destination: Berlin - Part One” and “Part Three” are unedited live recordings. “Part Two” was performed live too, but because Bill Fox' appearance on this track was decided on the very last moment before the performance, in combination with some recording issues, there were finally no multitrack recordings from his part. For this release, the track has been edited instead, with some slight changes, as well as newly recorded parts by Bill Fox.

The title track features some more guest musicians who will be announced within two weeks!

The album will be released on my newly established record label (official since today!).

As co-owner of AKH Records (on which I have released most of my previous albums), I've also had some plans for another label (also focusing on various types of electronic music), with a slightly different approach, of which recognisability as label and a more stable frequency of releases (also from other artists) are part. Besides this I want to offer quality music for the best possible prices (also, indeed all releases will be officially manufactured discs, no cd-r's!), which is also very important because of the decreasing physical album sales, as well as the current music market on the internet. My music will also become available on various download platforms, which offer high quality music files.

The name of the label and the complete concept will also be revealed within a very short time.

For this new label, as well as my own music, there will be launched some new websites later this month.

An exclusive track, inspired by M.C.Escher's "Ascending and Descending" appeared on the "Dutch Masters" cd, recently released by Groove Unlimited (http://www.groove.nl).

The album contains very fine electronic music by artists who let inspire themselves by works of famous Dutch painters.

SCHALLPLATTE 13

I have also submitted a track for "Schallplatte 13", for which the musical pieces should have been inspired by famous writers.

My piece refers to Stephen King's "The Stand", which actually one of the very few (excellent) books I've ever read.

It's not yet certain if the piece appears on the compilation, as a jury selects all submissed tracks in advance.

The cd will be only available to members of the German Schallwende electronic music magazine (and a limited quantity can be obtained via me if my track appears on it).
